A Reason to Celebrate

 If you look carefully, there are many 'new' things mentioned in Scripture-

new moon, new covenant, new earth, 

                  new song, new garment, new house...

 but my favorite 'new' thing is probably the amazing truth 

that God can make us new.

A new creature, with a new name!

Under the curse, as with all mankind, 

I am destined to judgement and separation 

from the very God who created me and loves me.

But God... in His infinite mercy, made a way 

to be justified through the perfect shed blood of Jesus Christ.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: 

old things are passed away; 

behold, all things are become new."  

- 2 Corinthians 5:17

Without His sacrifice, grace, and peace-

I have no hope.

But now- washed from the crimson stains of my sin,

I have the purity of Christ's righteousness laid on me.

That means a a new day--
a new life!

And that is something to celebrate.
