The summer sun is setting earlier each evening,
making kaleidoscopes of the pine trees.
The daisies blanket the ground
with the last of their petals,
and the trees dot the hills with the hint of autumn-
which is surely just around the corner.
But the crab apples are plumping
so the birds will have a feast,
and the pumpkins increase their waist size
just in time for harvest...
exactly as God promised.
