I love the reminder from II Peter that
because of the righteousness of God and our Savior,
we have the same precious faith
as those brothers and sisters in Christ
we have read so often of in the Word of God.
It is easy to think that these saints of old had something we do not-
that they have a higher level of righteousness-
that I cannot be so a faithful follower of the One
that has redeemed me from
the same curse of sin they have escaped.
But who can despair when we have the declaration
that He has given us great and precious promises;
that He has given us everything we need to live a godly life
through the knowledge of Him.
We are exhorted not to forget
to add to our faith,
to add to our faith,
virtue,
knowledge,
temperance,
patience,
godliness,
and to godliness,
add brotherly kindness,
and charity.
'For if these things be in you, and abound,
they make you that you shall neither be
barren or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.'
II Peter 1
We are loved beyond measure by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We can do no less than to sit as His feet today and learn of Him.
Thank you, Sharon, for the reminder to sit at His feet, as Mary of Bethany did.
